Brass Horseshoe "Good Luck" Padlock with Key

This antique whimsical lock still works and best of luck, comes with a key.

The lock was made by Barnes Manufacturing Company.  The key was made by another more famous lock and safe company - Yale & Towne (yes - that Yale!) and is not original to the lock but works with it.

The front of the shackle is stamped Barnes Mfg Co., while the back of the shackle is  marked pat’d June 24, 1879.

The key is stamped Yale & Towne, Stamford, Conn, USA (note - Yale & Towne was located in Stamford, Connecticut  between 1869-1948.)
