DESCRIPTION:  Ink on paper, late 19th century, signed by artist in the lower righthand corner, showing a young woman standing by a tree and a fence, holding her bonnet. Similar in choice of subject and background to her work titled “Young girl wearing a bonnet leaning against a fence”.

 CONDITION: Print in fine condition, mat (raised textured – netting look) in fine and frame in very good condition, small gaps showing at the corners.

 ARTIST: Charlotte J. Weeks, active 1876-1890, is a British 19th Century artist, book designer, illustrator and journalist. Her works have been occasionally offered at auctions with realized prices ranging from US$ 424 to US$ USD 9,200 depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Her designs were engraved on wood by the Brothers Dalziel, a prolific wood-engraving business in Victorian London, founded in 1839 (Sources: MutualArt, Christie’s, British Museum, Wikipedia).
