A No 11, tall globe brakeman's lantern made by E.T. Wright for the Grand Trunk Railroad (GTR) between 1905 - 1920. The GTR operated in Ontario and Quebec as well as Michigan. In 1920, the GTR merged with the Canadian National Railway (CNR).

The top of the lantern chimney is marked "E.T. Wright & Co. MFRS, Hamilton - Ont."  The lantern hood is marked “G.T.R, Pat'd 1908." The twist-off metal oil fount is unmarked.  The burner wick button is marked "P&A Mfg Co, Waterbury, Conn., Made in USA".

The clear glass globe is marked with GTR in raised glass. The globe has bubbles from manufacturing process (common in older glass manufacturing).

Condition: Good used. There are dents to the top of the smoke dome and rust, as expected in an antique lantern. There is a 2" inch crack in the glass globe plus some minor chipping at the base which are not visible when the lantern is assembled.  There are several small corrosion holes in the fount holder (but the fount itself is intact).  See photos for details.

Dimensions:
Height to the top of the handle – 15.5"
