Antique 19th Century Scandinavian Tine Box

A lovely, large Scandinavian bentwood tine box, stained warm chestnut, and decorated with burnt circular and wave designs.  The box lid features a wooden handle.

Condition:
Wear on bottom and on lid where locking posts connect, plus one wood knot hole has fallen out on the side of the box to the left of the seam lacing (3rd picture shows this).  Box is held together with a mixture of wooden pegs, nails, string, and lacing.
