Made in Canada by General Steel Wares (GSW) between 1927 and the early 1960's, this large No. 2 lantern with a red globe was used by Toronto's Public Works Dept.
The lantern is marked with the Beacon name on the side of the chimney. One side of the fount is marked Made in Canada, GSW Quality. The other side of the fount is marked Guaranteed Windproof.
The red glass globe is has unreadable manufacturers marks.
Condition: used, fair. The globe has missing pieces from the top lip and chips on the bottom lip which are not visible when the globe is mounted in the lantern. Note: this is a vintage piece with wear, rust and dents and is meant for decorative use only. See photos for details.
