CNR Hiram L. Piper Adlake Kero Brakeman's Lantern

A piece of more recent Canadian history! This Hiram L. Piper Railway lantern was made between the late 1960's and early 1970's.  The  lantern top is marked CNR. 

The rich red round glass globe is marked CNX (short for Corning non-expansion glass - a predecessor of pyrex) and Adlake Kero.

The underside of base is marked Adlake Kero, Patented, USA Canada.

The #400 burner is marked "Use Long Time Burning Oil Only".

Condition: used. This lantern is in great condition with little rust.  Note: this is a vintage  piece with wear, meant for decorative use only.
