Dietz King Fire Dept Hot Blast Tubular Oil Lantern
Made in the USA by the R.E. Dietz Manufacturing Company between 1906 and 1939 for Fire Depts, this large brass lantern features a hinged wire cage that swings up to access the globe.
The lantern is marked with the Dietz logo on the water shield (a 2" high band near the top of the lantern cage that protected the top of the chimney and globe and therefore the flame) from water spray.
The top of the fount on one side is marked Fire Dept., while the other is marked Dietz King. The clear glass globe is marked Dietz Fitall, New York, U.S.A.
Condition: used, good. Some creasing to Dietz mark on water shield on one side. Note: this is a vintage piece with wear, rust and dents and is meant for decorative use only. See photos for details.
