GTR E.T. Wright & Co. No. 15 Tall Globe Brakeman's Lantern
A restored No 15, tall globe brakeman's lantern made by E.T. Wright for the Grand Trunk Railroad (GTR) between 1915 - 1920. The GTR operated in Ontario and Quebec as well as Michigan. In 1920, the GTR merged with the Canadian National Railway (CNR).
Top of lantern chimney is marked "E.T. Wright & Co. MFRS, Hamilton - Ont. The lantern hood is marked “G.T.R, Pat'd 1908." The metal oil fount and burner is unmarked.
The clear glass globe is marked E.T. W & Co. and GTR in raised glass. The globe has bubbles from manufacturing process (common in older glass manufacturing).
Condition: Good used. This antique lantern has been restored, has no dents or scratches and has been repainted in matte black. The top of the glass globe has a 1.25" crack plus some minor chipping. The burner is stuck to the burner pot. See photos for details.
