This "Spring Glory" snack set was made by Royal Winton Grimwades between 1949 and 1955. The pattern—featuring a bright burgundy background with a cheerful floral design in green, yellow, blue, pink, and white—is trimmed in gold.

The snack set was designed for garden parties, tennis matches, or other social outdoor occasions where there was a practical need to have an easy way of holding both a cup of tea or coffee and a light snack with one hand. For that reason, the plate has an indention which holds the cup in place, leaving the rest of the roomy plate free for sandwiches or other finger foods.

Condition: Good used. The underside of the plate has three small stilt/spur marks from pins used in the kiln during the firing process. Extensive crazing on both pieces as expected for its age. No chips or cracks. See photos for details.
