Sterling Silver Sugar Shaker / Muffineer
This lovely sterling sugar shaker/muffineer was made by Barker Brothers Silversmiths in Birmingham, England in 1951. The base is stamped Sterling, Made in England.
Muffineers (also known as sugar shakers or casters), were used in Victorian times to sprinkle powdered sugar on biscuits, scones and muffins.
Condition: Good used. One small dent on body, light wear. See photos for details.

About the maker: Barker Brothers Silversmiths Ltd was established in Birmingham, England in 1801. One of the premier silversmiths in Birmingham, they were known for their silver and silver plated flatware and tableware. Eventually becoming Barker Ellis Silver Co. Ltd., they ceased operations in 1997.
