Made by George Clews & Co Ltd in Tunstall (Stoke-on-Trent), between 1930 and 1945, this cube teapot features cheerful painted daisies atop a rich hunter green glaze.

The Cube teapot was a revolutionary departure from traditional teapot design.  The Cube could be stacked,  advertised a no-drip spout, and could be stored easily without any danger of chipping the spout, handle or lid.

It was designed by English engineer Robert Crawford Johnson, who patented it in 1917, and after 1925, licensed it to other manufacturers.

George Clews and Co. Ltd produced a cream version of the Cube teapot sets for use onboard Cunard-White Star Line's luxury ocean liner the RMS Queen Mary.

Condition: Good used.  There is a medium size chip to the underside lip of the teapot lid, and minor wear to the gold trim. See photos for details.
